Friday’s Calm Before the Storm

Friday begins with patchy frost before 7 a.m., a reminder that spring mornings can still feel chilly. After that, the sky will clear up to partly sunny conditions with a high near 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be calm early on but will shift to the east at around 6 mph by mid-morning.

Evening temperatures will drop to around 48 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. Light east winds of 3 to 5 mph will keep the air feeling cool but not uncomfortable. This day offers a good window for outdoor activities before the rain arrives.

Rain Arrives Saturday Afternoon and Night

Saturday marks a clear change in the weather pattern. Rain is expected mainly after 2 p.m., with a high temperature near 61 degrees. Winds will pick up from the southeast at 6 to 11 mph, with gusts reaching as high as 21 mph. This means conditions will feel cooler and wetter, especially later in the day.

The chance of precipitation is 100%, so plan for wet conditions if you are heading outdoors. Rainfall amounts could range from a tenth to a quarter of an inch, enough to soak the ground and create slippery surfaces.

Saturday night will continue with showers and a low temperature around 45 degrees. Southeast winds will strengthen to 11 to 13 mph. Expect new precipitation amounts between a quarter and half an inch, which could lead to localized puddling and damp roads.

Sunday’s Showers Likely with Gradual Clearing

Sunday will start with showers likely, mainly before 2 p.m. The sky will remain cloudy, and the high temperature will rise slightly to near 66 degrees. Southeast winds will continue at 10 to 13 mph, maintaining a cool and damp atmosphere.

The chance of precipitation drops to 70% during the day, signaling that rain will taper off but not disappear entirely. By Sunday night, there is a 50% chance of showers mainly after 2 a.m., with mostly cloudy skies and a low near 52 degrees.

Memorial Day and Early Week Outlook

Memorial Day offers a chance of showers before 2 p.m., with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 76 degrees. The chance of rain is 40%, so some outdoor plans may still be possible, but keep an umbrella handy just in case.

Monday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 52 degrees. Then, the weather improves significantly on Tuesday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 81 degrees. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy with a low near 55 degrees.

Wednesday continues the trend of mostly sunny weather with highs near 81 degrees and partly cloudy skies at night with lows around 53 degrees. Thursday will remain mostly sunny with a high near 76 degrees, offering a pleasant end to the week.

Preparing for the Weekend Weather

With rain and cooler temperatures expected, here are some practical tips to stay comfortable and safe:

  • Dress in layers to adjust to changing temperatures from morning frost to afternoon rain.

  • Carry waterproof gear such as umbrellas and rain jackets, especially on Saturday and Sunday.

  • Plan outdoor activities earlier in the day on Saturday and Sunday to avoid the heaviest rain.

  • Drive carefully on wet roads, particularly during gusty winds and after rainfall.

  • Check local weather updates regularly as conditions can change quickly.
