What to Expect Today and Tonight

The day starts with a chance of showers before 7 a.m., accompanied by patchy fog. Visibility may be reduced in the early morning, so take care if you are driving. After the morning, the sky will remain mostly cloudy with a high near 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will be light, shifting from southwest at around 5 mph to variable in the afternoon. There is a 30% chance of precipitation, with new rainfall amounts expected to be less than a tenth of an inch.

Tonight, the skies will stay mostly cloudy, and temperatures will drop to around 30 degrees. Winds will calm down, making for a still and chilly night.

Rain and Snow Mix on Wednesday

Wednesday brings more significant weather changes. Rain is expected, possibly mixed with snow, mainly after 7 a.m. Temperatures will be cooler, with a high near 36 degrees. Winds will be calm in the morning but will shift to an easterly direction at about 6 mph in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 100%, so plan for wet and potentially slippery conditions throughout the day.

Snow accumulation is expected to be minimal, with little or no buildup on roads or sidewalks. Still, the mix of rain and snow can create slick spots, especially on untreated surfaces.

Wednesday Night’s Complex Conditions

The night will bring a chance of rain and snow before 10 p.m., followed by a chance of snow and freezing rain between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Temperatures will fall to around 25 degrees, and the east wind will continue at about 6 mph before calming after midnight. Precipitation chances drop to 50%, but there is a possibility of new snow accumulation of less than half an inch.

Freezing rain can create hazardous conditions, especially on bridges, overpasses, and untreated roads. It’s wise to limit travel during these hours if possible.

Thursday and Thursday Night: Clearing and Snow Chances

Thursday will see partly sunny skies with a high near 39 degrees. Winds will be light and from the east, providing a calm day with some sunshine. However, the night brings a chance of snow after 1 a.m., with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 26 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 30%, so some light snow may fall overnight.

Rain and Snow Return Friday and Into the Weekend

Friday’s forecast calls for rain and snow, with a high near 40 degrees and an 80% chance of precipitation. This mix will continue into Friday night, with rain and snow likely mainly before 1 a.m. Temperatures will drop to around 29 degrees, and the chance of precipitation remains at 60%. Expect wet and slippery conditions, especially during the evening and early night.

Saturday starts with a chance of rain before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow for the rest of the day. The high will be near 37 degrees, with a 40% chance of precipitation. Saturday night will bring a chance of snow with mostly cloudy skies and a low near 23 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday continues with a chance of snow and mostly cloudy skies. The high will be near 33 degrees, with a 50% chance of precipitation. Sunday night will also have a chance of snow, with a low around 20 degrees and a 40% chance of precipitation.

What This Means for Your Week

This week’s weather will require flexibility and caution. The combination of rain, snow, and freezing rain means roads can be wet, icy, or slushy at different times. Here are some practical tips to stay safe and comfortable:

  • Check local road conditions before traveling, especially during early mornings and late nights.

  • Allow extra time for commutes to avoid rushing on slippery roads.

  • Dress in layers to adjust to fluctuating temperatures between the 20s and 40s.

  • Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle, including blankets, a flashlight, and a small shovel.

  • Monitor weather updates throughout the week, as conditions can change quickly.

By preparing for a mix of winter weather, you can reduce stress and stay safe whether you’re commuting, running errands, or enjoying outdoor activities.
