Tonight’s Snow Showers and Early Morning Conditions

Expect a chance of snow showers before 3 a.m., with snow becoming more consistent mainly after 5 a.m. Temperatures will drop to around 21°F, accompanied by a south wind near 10 mph and gusts reaching 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is high at 80%, and new snow accumulation of about an inch is possible overnight.

These conditions mean roads could become slick and visibility may reduce during the early morning hours. If you need to be out late or early, plan extra travel time and drive cautiously. Keep an eye on weather updates as the situation can change quickly with gusty winds adding to the chill factor.

Wednesday’s Mixed Precipitation and Snow Accumulation

Wednesday will bring a mix of snow and freezing rain before 9 a.m., then transition to rain and snow throughout the day. The high temperature will reach near 37°F, with southwest winds around 11 mph and gusts up to 21 mph. Precipitation chances are at 100%, so expect steady wet conditions.

Despite the freezing rain, little or no ice accumulation is expected, which reduces the risk of dangerous ice patches. However, new snow accumulation could reach around 2 inches by the end of the day. This mix of rain and snow can create slushy roads and sidewalks, so wearing waterproof boots and using caution while walking or driving is advisable.

Wednesday Night and Thursday Snow Showers

After Wednesday, the precipitation will continue into Wednesday night with rain and snow showers turning to all snow after 10 p.m. Temperatures will fall to about 19°F, with west winds between 9 and 13 mph. The chance of precipitation remains high at 90%, with an additional inch of snow possible overnight.

Thursday will see snow showers throughout the day, with highs near 26°F. Winds will pick up from the west at 14 to 17 mph, gusting as high as 29 mph. The chance of precipitation stays at 90%, so expect continued snow accumulation and potentially blowing snow in exposed areas.

Preparing for the Week Ahead

With snow showers expected almost daily and temperatures hovering around freezing or below, here are some practical tips to stay safe and comfortable:

  • Keep your vehicle winter-ready: Check tires, windshield wipers, and antifreeze levels. Carry an emergency kit with blankets, food, and water.

  • Dress in layers: Wear insulated, waterproof clothing and sturdy boots to stay warm and dry.

  • Monitor local weather updates: Conditions can change quickly, especially with wind gusts causing drifting snow.

  • Plan travel carefully: Allow extra time for commutes and avoid unnecessary trips during heavy snow or icy conditions.

  • Clear snow promptly: Remove snow from driveways and walkways to prevent ice buildup and slips.

Snow can be beautiful but also disruptive. Being informed and prepared helps you navigate the week safely.
