Weather Patterns: What to Expect for the Upcoming Week

As we shift from fall to winter, we often encounter unpredictable weather. This week's forecast is a prime example, showcasing a blend of rain, snow, and varying temperatures. Understanding these conditions will help you stay prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store.


The week kicks off tonight with a high likelihood of showers before 1 AM. A persistent chance of rain will carry on throughout the night, especially after 1 AM, when patchy fog may develop. Expect temperatures to dip to around 45°F, accompanied by a calm east wind that may pick up to about 6 mph. With a 100% chance of precipitation, rainfall could reach between 0.1 and 0.25 inches.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, expect a significant increase in rainfall. Showers will persist throughout the day, with fog also anticipated before 1 PM. Temperatures are expected to fall to about 39°F by 5 PM, accompanied by light winds shifting to the west at 5 to 10 mph. The probability of rain remains at 100%, with total rainfall amounts possibly accumulating to between 0.5 and 0.75 inches.


As Wednesday evening arrives, the weather may shift again. Rain and snow showers could start appearing before 11 PM, with a low approaching 26°F. A brisk west wind of 10 to 16 mph will add an extra chill to the air. While the chance of precipitation decreases slightly to 90%, new snow accumulation could be less than 0.5 inches.


Transitioning into Thursday, expect a chilly day with a strong likelihood of snow showers. Overcast skies will be prevalent, keeping the high temperature around 31°F. Winds from the west will blow between 13 and 16 mph, with gusts reaching up to 26 mph. Snow chances remain notable at 60%.

Thursday night will also bring a chance of snow showers, mostly before 1 AM. As skies begin to clear, temperatures are likely to plunge to 17°F. The likelihood of precipitation decreases to 30%, but the frigid air will certainly remind us that winter is here.


On Friday, a break in the weather comes with mostly sunny skies and highs nearing 28°F. This change allows residents to enjoy some outdoor activities, though warm clothing will still be necessary. The temperature will drop again at night to about 15°F under partly cloudy skies.


The weekend starts on a mild note with Saturday featuring mostly cloudy weather and a high around 35°F. As night falls, snow showers could begin before 1 AM, with a mix of rain and snow likely later. The low temperature is forecasted to be around 27°F, with a 40% chance of precipitation.


Sunday continues the trend of wet weather, with rain expected alongside cloudy skies. Temperatures will hover around 42°F during the day, making it feel a bit warmer. However, as night approaches, there's still a chance of showers, with nighttime temperatures settling around 32°F.


Finishing the week, Monday also brings a chance of rain. The area will remain under mostly cloudy skies, with highs expected near 46°F. The likelihood of precipitation drops to 30%.
