Friday Brings Showers and Strong Winds

Friday will start off cool and mostly cloudy, but showers will develop mainly after 2 p.m. Temperatures will reach a high near 54°F, with southeast winds increasing from 7 to 12 mph in the morning to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Gusts could reach up to 36 mph, making it feel colder and potentially causing some disruptions outdoors.

The chance of precipitation is high at 90%, but new rainfall amounts are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch. Still, the combination of wind and rain means you should plan to carry waterproof gear and secure loose outdoor items.

Friday night continues with showers mainly after 7 p.m. The low will be around 42°F, with south winds between 7 and 15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph. The chance of rain rises to 100%, so expect a wet and breezy night.

Saturday’s Weather: Showers and Cooler Temperatures

Saturday will remain mostly cloudy with a high near 51°F. There is a 40% chance of showers throughout the day, so intermittent rain is possible but not guaranteed. Winds will shift to the west at 6 to 9 mph, bringing slightly cooler air.

Saturday night will see a 50% chance of showers after 1 a.m., with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 35°F. Winds will be light and variable, so conditions will be calmer but still chilly.

Sunday’s Mix of Rain and Snow

Sunday will bring more rain showers with a high near 54°F and a 90% chance of precipitation. The wet weather will continue into Sunday night, with rain showers before 1 a.m. transitioning to rain and snow showers likely afterward. Temperatures will drop to around 29°F, increasing the chance of snow.

This shift means roads and sidewalks could become slippery, especially late Sunday night. If you plan to travel, allow extra time and drive carefully.

Early Week Snow Showers and Cold Weather

Monday will see snow showers likely, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high near 39°F and a 60% chance of precipitation. Monday night continues with snow showers likely and a low around 24°F, with a 70% chance of snow.

Veterans Day will also feature snow showers likely, mostly cloudy skies, and a high near 39°F. The chance of precipitation remains at 70%. Tuesday night will continue with snow showers likely and a low near 29°F.

These colder temperatures and snow showers mark a clear shift into winter weather conditions. It’s a good time to check your heating systems and prepare for possible travel delays.

What You Can Do to Prepare

  • Dress in layers to stay warm and dry, especially on days with showers and wind.

  • Keep an umbrella and waterproof jacket handy for the frequent rain showers expected Friday through Sunday.

  • Secure outdoor items that could be blown away by gusty winds on Friday.

  • Check your vehicle’s tires and brakes before traveling, as wet and icy roads may develop late Sunday and into the week.

  • Monitor local weather updates for any changes in snow accumulation or wind advisories.

Planning ahead will help you stay comfortable and safe during this period of changing weather. Whether you have outdoor activities or travel plans, being prepared for showers, snow, and colder temperatures will make a big difference.
