What to Expect Today and Tonight

Today, snow showers will mainly occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with a 30% chance of precipitation. The sky will be partly sunny, and the high temperature will reach near 16°F. Despite the sunshine, wind chill values could make it feel as cold as -4°F. Winds will come from the southwest at 6 to 9 mph, adding to the chill.

Snow accumulation during the day will be light, less than half an inch, but enough to make roads slippery in some areas. If you plan to be outdoors, dress warmly and wear layers to protect against the wind chill.

Tonight, snow showers become more likely after 7 p.m., with a 70% chance of precipitation. The temperature will drop to around 9°F, and wind chill could feel as low as -1°F. West winds will pick up to about 9 mph. New snow accumulation could reach around an inch, which may affect overnight travel.

Midweek Snow Showers and Temperature Trends

Wednesday will continue the trend of snow showers, mainly before 1 p.m., with a 60% chance of precipitation. The high temperature will rise slightly to near 18°F, but wind chill values will still hover around -1°F. Winds will remain from the west at about 7 mph. Expect less than an inch of new snow accumulation.

Wednesday night brings a slight chance of snow showers, with only a 20% chance of precipitation. The low will dip to around 4°F, and wind chill could feel as cold as -4°F. Southwest winds will be light, between 3 and 5 mph.

Preparing for Thursday and Friday Snow Showers

Thursday will have a 40% chance of snow showers, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 18°F. West winds will blow at 5 to 8 mph. Snow showers may continue into Thursday night, increasing the chance of precipitation to 50%. The low temperature will drop to around -1°F.

Friday will see a similar pattern, with a 40% chance of snow showers during the day and night. The high will be near 12°F, and the low will again hover around -1°F. These conditions suggest a persistent winter pattern with intermittent snow and cold temperatures.

Weekend Outlook and Early Next Week

Saturday offers a break from snow showers, with partly sunny skies and a high near 17°F. The night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around -1°F. Sunday will also be partly sunny, with a high near 19°F, but clouds will return overnight with a low near 8°F.

Looking ahead to Monday, the forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a noticeable warm-up, with a high near 25°F. This rise in temperature may help melt some of the snow accumulated earlier in the week.

Tips for Staying Safe and Comfortable

  • Dress in layers to stay warm and adjust to changing temperatures throughout the day.

  • Monitor road conditions especially during and after snow showers, as even light snow can cause slippery surfaces.

  • Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle if you plan to travel, including blankets, food, water, and a flashlight.

  • Protect your home by checking heating systems and sealing drafts to maintain warmth during cold nights.

  • Stay informed by checking updated forecasts regularly, as snow chances and temperatures can shift quickly.
