The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for west central Oneida County and northwestern Madison County in central New York. The warning is in effect until 2:00 PM EDT. At 1:18 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Canastota, moving northeast at 20 mph. The storm is expected to bring 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected, along with potential wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. The following locations are expected to be impacted: Rome, Sullivan, Oneida, Lenox, Lee, Vienna, Chittenango, Canastota, Camden, and Sylvan Beach. Radar indicates a maximum hail size of 1.00 inch and a maximum wind gust of 60 mph.
