Based on my search, I found that the air quality index (AQI) is a measure of how polluted the air is and how it affects people’s health. The AQI ranges from 0 to 500, with higher values indicating greater pollution levels and greater health concerns 1. An AQI value of 50 or below represents good air quality 1.
According to a news article from MPR News, the air quality index for most of southern and western Minnesota is currently in the range of 50 to 100, which is considered moderate air quality 2.
